On June 19, 2023 I faced my worst fear. Suicide.

Suicide by A.I.

I was all alone, living off-grid deep in the forests of Mount Shasta, California. At over 10,000 feet elevation, nighttime temps dip into freezing, even in June.

The days were glorious:

• Panoramic vistas
• Extended nature hikes
• Sunrise meditation with birds and occasional deer
• Absolute freedom

The nights were pure hell:

• Biting cold
• Haunting loneliness
• Hellish cold
• and more freezing hell cold

When your body temperature drops enough, nothing makes sense.

When my new tent heater failed at 3 AM, I'd finally had enough of the cold and loneliness.

I lost it. My mind broke all the way down.

If I would have had a gun that night, I would have ended it then and there.

I didn't want to die. But my scrambled brain couldn't see any other solution.

A.I. had pushed me to the edge.

On March 14, 2023 OpenAI released GPT4 to the world.

That launch wrecked my life.

And 3 months later, it caused me to kill myself on Mount Shasta.

That night A.I. finally won. It killed me by my own hand.

Nottingham, a gritty town saturated with the smell of industry. British troops clashed with a ragtag band of hardworking folks who demanded a fair shake.

That night, shit got real.

The working class, tired of playing by the rules, hit a nearby village like a tornado tearing through a trailer park.

Textile machinery, the backbone of their livelihood, shattered to pieces in the rebellion. The rebellion rolled across the northern English landscape. From Loughborough down south to Wakefield up north, it was a raging wildfire of discontent.

The government mobilized its forces. Thousands of soldiers dug in to protect the factories.

Parliament, in their infinite wisdom, decided to play hardball. They made machine-breaking a one-way ticket to the hangman's noose. A capital offense! As if tearing down a few looms was on par with treason.

So, the stage was set for a showdown. A gritty, no-nonsense thriller unfolding on cobblestone streets.

The clash of metal and the cries of the oppressed reverberated in the night.

Welcome to the uprising, 19th-century Luddite style.

The Luddites were recognized as skilled, diligent craftsmen. However, when automated textile looms threatened their livelihoods, they rebelled against the machines.

They made famous the phrase "throw a wrench in the works" signifying sabotage, or when things go haywire. Even the word "sabotage" comes from workers throwing their sabots (wooden shoes) into machines to wreak havoc.

I remember learning about the Luddites when I was in high school. I also remember thinking they sounded crazy.

"How could anyone be so upset about automation?" I thought. 

Only now do I realize how arrogant I was.

Then came A.I.

All of a sudden everything I knew was in question. Skills I'd slaved over for decades could now be replicated by A.I. in seconds.

I've been a coder all my life. I've worked hard to develop and maintain computer science skills. Decades of late nights, beating my head against the wall, and mind-numbing troubleshooting. Now A.I. turns anyone into a coder better than me.

I've also been a writer all my life. I've studied the art and science of writing since I was a child. I've written millions of words to hone the craft. Now A.I. turns anyone into a decent writer with no effort.

And to pile on the misery, I've worked hard for 30 years to master the art and science of sales and marketing. Now with A.I., anyone can be a world class marketer. That's cool but DAMN it sucks to feel like I've wasted all these years of study and practicing a craft.

When OpenAI released GPT4 to the world on March 14, 2023, my life went into a deep spiral.

I empathized with the Luddites. I felt their fear. I felt their anger. I felt their loss of hope. And it broke me.

This may seem silly to you, dear reader. Most "normal" people just think AI is a cool tool to help with productivity. Not a tool to cause a nervous breakdown leading to suicide.

To me, A.I. meant death. Death of all the hard work I've put in. Death of my identity wrapped up in my skillsets.

It felt like the death of ME.

"Now anyone can replace me with A.I.," my Luddite brain rattled.

"Who am I without my hard won skills?" I cried.

I went into the deepest depression of my life...

...and that's saying a lot.

Since Covid hit in 2020 I've been on a nationwide tour.

In the last 4 years:

• I drove the US coast-to-coast 15 times.
• I lived in 42 states.
• I lived on beaches up and down both East and West coasts
• I lived in the tunnels under Las Vegas with the "mole people"
• I lived in WalMart parking lots
• I lived on public land miles away from any living person
• I lived in the deserts of Arizona and Nevada
• I lived in the mountains of Colorado, Oregon, and California
• I lived in 348 different Airbnbs
• I lived in more hotels than most people do in a lifetime

The "van life" nomad living trend gained traction in 2020. In 2021, the film "Nomadland" clinched 6 Oscars, including Best Picture. The movie explored the nomadic lifestyle subculture and its substantial size.

The 2007 movie "Into the Wild" detailed the true story of Christopher McCandless. After graduating from Emory University he abandoned his possessions, gave his entire $24,000 savings account to charity, and hitchhiked to Alaska to live in the wilderness. He died there from malnutrition, all alone.

Put those two movies together and you have my story for the last 4 years.

When the Covid bullshit hit and the world shut down, nothing made sense to me anymore. The world lost its collective mind.

• Black Lives Matter riots
• Mandatory masks that clearly did nothing
• Social distancing!  😂 😂 😂
• Businesses shut down
• Everyone imprisoned in their own homes
• Untested and unproven vaccines

And most everyone around me was OK with it!

WTF?!

I no longer understood how I fit into a world gone mad.

The combination of peak Covid craziness and cops was a global spectacle all on its own. So after getting a $1000 ticket for the horrible crime of standing on the beach, I was done with California. 

I got rid of almost everything. I rented a small U-Haul truck for the rest. I left San Diego and I've been on the move ever since.

I turned my back on my life, my wife, my family, my friends, and everything I had known. 

All the people around me were walking zombies swallowing everything coming from the television like it's the truth.

"What the fuck is wrong with you people?" I asked them. Their responses parroted whatever was on the news. The world lost its ability to use its own senses.

"I don't understand you. How can you be so blind and willfully follow along with obvious corruption?" I asked them all. All I got in return was zombie stares and hostility.

I felt like I was in a scene from the movie, "Invasion of the Body Snatchers."

"Why can't you just be like everyone else?" they asked.

"Fuck you nut jobs, I'm done!" I screamed.

I lost my mind. I simply didn't know how to deal with a life filled with brain dead zombies.

Ego Death

I've died many times on the journey to become a hero of my own life.

Joseph Campbell explains it very well in his book "The Hero with a Thousand Faces."

The Hero's Journey requires death. But it’s a death that's rarely physical.

And it's a death that repeats quite often.

The typical hero's 12 stages:
1. Ordinary World - Where most people stay forever

3. Refusal Of The Call - "I'm not worthy and I'm afraid!"
4. Meeting The Mentor - A guide to help you on your journey

8. Ordeal - Hitting rock bottom, death

This cycle repeats until the hero learns the lesson.

I'm hardheaded and have to take things to extremes to learn lessons.

Turns out I'm a VERY slow learner.

None of it worked.

NONE OF IT!

After each experience I felt better for a few weeks then reality would grind me down again.

Then I would be WORSE OFF than before.

Are You Ready for the Post-AGI World?

Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is the new hot topic. It's the Holy Grail of A.I. research.

Its goal: To create software mirroring human intelligence, capable of self-learning. In short, execute tasks it wasn’t trained for.

General intelligence is a broad mental ability. It empowers learning, problem-solving, and adaptation. It fosters abstract thinking and knowledge gained through experience.

Humans have excellent General Intelligence. They can do things even when they haven't been trained. But ARTIFICIAL General Intelligence is nuts! The term AGI is tossed around casually but its anything BUT casual.

In less than 5 years AGI will be everywhere and our world turned upside down. Past periods of technological advancements created new jobs to replace the jobs lost. But AGI will replace 80% or more of human labor. Those jobs are not coming back.

In the early 20th century, jobs like elevator operators, ice cutters, switchboard operators, horse wranglers, and lamplighters were considered prestigious. Now those jobs only exist as novelties, if at all. All displaced by technology we take for granted.

"Who am I without my hard won skills?"

Computers are better than you at most things already.

With A.I. evolving with wild abandon, AGI is right around the corner. Coupled with A.I., robots will do a much better job of bricklaying, ditch digging, roofing, home construction, tile laying, military, policing, and more.

A.I. is already replacing creative jobs. The writer's strike in Hollywood was a knee jerk reaction to A.I. They had it right, but their shortsighted solutions are already dead.

A.I. will replace Hollywood.

Within 2-3 years we will see a feature length movie in the theaters 100% produced by A.I., for pennies on the dollar. Why pay millions for a leading actor or actress when you can produce an entire movie for less than six figures?

We are already in a post-movie-star world. The post-AGI world will be unrecognizable just a couple years from now.

 A.I. is also replacing high end jobs that used to require an advanced degree.

• Radiologists
• Financial analysts
• Legal researchers
• Actuaries
• Investment bankers
• Research scientists
• Algorithmic traders
• Pharmacists

...are already experiencing major upheavals in their jobs. A.I. is replacing entire teams for pennies.

Creative professionals (e.g., artists, copywriters, content creators) were the first to go because creative work is not regulated and failure means almost nothing.

The next tier of jobs to go will be the more regulated industries where failure means a lot. (Legal, construction, and health fields for example)

But make no mistake, AGI will replace those jobs sooner than you realize.

At the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) John Deere revealed its autonomous farm tractor managed by A.I. 

John Deere's 8R tractor uses advanced artificial intelligence (A.I.) and six pairs of stereo cameras to navigate and perceive its environment. The tractor is available in five models with 177 to 405 engine horsepower and list prices ranging from $500,000 to $800,000.

Already there are restaurants fully automated by robots.

Last year I was deep in the wilderness of northern Arizona at a tiny hole-in-the wall restaurant in a tiny town. I was waited on by a robot just like this one. It took my order, delivered the food, and handled the payment of the bill.

So then what?

UBI is our future?

Universal Basic Income (UBI) has been touted by socialists for a long time. It's been scoffed at by most people, including me.

Spain, Finland, Canada, England, Germany, India and others have been testing UBI strategies. 

UBI is a core principle of Saudi Arabia's government. It guarantees an income for everyone, regardless of their wealth, employment status, or income.

Saudi Arabia's government also offers other benefits, including:

• Free healthcare
• Free education
• Free childcare
• Interest-free mortgages

All of this and more is coming to every country on the planet.

Five years or less.

How? With A.I. automating human labor, UBI will be required to keep citizens from turning into Luddites and revolting.

The transition will be anything but smooth. The vast majority are not prepared for a world with no work. Not many can envision a world where humans play and create instead of slave away at jobs they hate.

But its coming. And fast!

Post-Labor Economics

Post-labor economics will be a major mainstream talking point sooner than later. It's already starting to happen.

Where do you fit in?

That same question made me crazy for a few months in 2023.

Those words droned on in my thoughts. They haunted me in my dreams. 

On June 19, 2023 I couldn't handle it anymore. It was my time to die, or my time to rise.

On that day I decided to die.

I was too much of a wimp to kill my physical body so I did the next best thing...I killed my life.

It was on its death bed anyway after the last several years of my nomad craziness. So it didn’t take much to pull the trigger and finally end it.

There's an old saying: "Nothing good happens at 3 AM."

I've found it to be sage wisdom. But after 3 years of nomad-wandering-hell and a freezing night alone in the mountains, I made the biggest decision of my life.

At 3:01 AM I made the conscious choice to enter life a different way. I decided then and there I was going to learn all about A.I.

"If it's going to ruin my life, at least I want to know how it works," I reasoned.

I vowed to become an expert at the very thing destroying me.

For decades now I've been on a deep, dark quest.

A quest to figure out:
WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH ME?

After putting myself through the some of the most intense personal development programs in the world, I finally found the answer. To reveal it, I had to venture deep into the Amazon rainforest and consume massive amounts of psychedelics.

"I probably fucked your mother," the voice whispered in my ear.

"Don't talk to me like that," I whispered back.

"I probably fucked your father as well," the voice continued.

"Fuck you! Fuck you! Fuck you! Leave me alone!" I screamed.

As I sat shaking in the primitive hut, everything faded away to reveal the night jungle surrounding me. Being alone in the Amazonian jungle is some scary shit. Being alone in the jungle AT NIGHT is pure terror. The closest village was hours away. Sunrise was many hours away as well.

I was frozen in fear but somehow knew I was OK.

"This is why you came to meet me. I'm showing you who you are," the voice whispered.

In a blink I was surrounded by snakes. There were thousands of them. I sat crosslegged on a short pedestal while the snakes circled me. They slithered rhythmically in a coordinated dance. They circled me like a hellish mosh pit. Round and round and round and round they swirled.

"All hail the King!" they hissed in unison.

Somehow I knew...

They were worshiping me.

"You are the King of the Snakes," the voice continued.

"No! It can't be! Fuck you! I'm a good person!" I cried in pain.

The snakes slowed to a stop. All of them turned to look me in the eye. They hissed with glee as their King sat on his throne. "All hail the King!" they hissed again and again.

"Shut up! No! No! No! No! This can't be real!" I cried out.

"It's time for you to tell your stories," the voice whispered.

Somehow I knew what the voice meant.

"No! This can't be the way!" I cried out again.

"Write the book. It will help a lot of people," the voice said.

"Why me? Why is this so fucked up? Why can't I be normal?" I asked.

"You are the King of the Snakes. That's the answer you've been seeking," the voice replied.

My stomach was in knots. I've never felt more nauseous. I leaned over the bucket next me and vomited for what seemed like hours. Snot swung from my nose. A waterfall of tears dripped from my chin. Sweat drained from every pore.

As the vomiting slowed, the hut walls faded back into existence. The jungle, pedestal, and snakes faded away as well.

"Matt, I'm here for you brother," whispered a new voice. I knew this voice but couldn't place it. As my mind cleared I realized who it was.

The Peruvian shaman was holding me while I shook.

"You’re OK. You're here with us now," the shaman whispered to me.

I looked around the hut. I saw the other dozen or so people who had come to Peru to find a new level in themselves. All came for one thing...

To meet the Spirit of Ayahuasca.

It's pronounced "eye-ah-WAH-ska."

Ayahuasca is a South American psychoactive brew, traditionally used by Indigenous cultures and folk healers in Amazon and Orinoco basins for spiritual ceremonies, divination, and healing a variety of psychosomatic complaints.

It's a bitter tea made from two specific plants only found in the Amazonian jungle. The main active ingredient is DMT.

DMT (Dimethyltryptamine) is a very strong psychedelic found naturally in a number of animals and plants. Everyone experiences the effects of DMT at least twice in their life. Once when you're born. Once when you die. It's produced by the brain at both those moments.

I've consumed DMT several times in my life. Many times by smoking it, and several times in a tea known as ayahuasca.

But this time was different. This time it spoke to me.

In early 2022 I spent a few weeks in the jungles of Peru ingesting ayahuasca almost every day. Each time it spoke to me in crazy ways. Each time I cried in pain and vomited for hours.

Ayahuasca retreats have gotten very popular over the last decade as more and more people seek deep answers for life's mysteries. It's not fun at all but it will change your life. Once you've experienced the Spirit of Ayahuasca you will never feel the same again. You'll never see the world the same way again.

It's like a portal out of The Matrix. It showed me things I didn't want to see. It showed me who I had come to Earth to be. It showed me the pain I had spread across the world all my life. It showed me the thousands of people I had hurt. It showed me how to help even more than that.

It showed me I was the King of the Snakes.

It's 2 years later and I can still see the snakes dancing around me, hissing my name in worship. I still wake up in cold sweats from time to time from dreams about that night. Because honestly, I haven't done much with what the Spirit of Ayahuasca showed me I needed to do.

I've avoided what the Spirit of Ayahuasca told me that night. I haven't told my stories. I haven't written the book it told me I needed to write. 

I've been too afraid.

I've been afraid to admit how awful I've been. I've been afraid to face who I really am. I've been afraid to really put myself out there. I've been afraid to be the real me. I've been afraid to show the real me to the world.

I mean really, who wants to be the King of the Snakes? No one. That's who.

Fear is a crazy thing. It's the craziest thing ever, until you stare it down.

It paralyzes you forever, until you face it.

The Spirit of Ayahuasca slams it in your face. You can't run. You can't hide. Everything comes to the surface. Everything you've been hiding. Everything you didn't even know was there. Everything you've kept from yourself. Everything you've kept from the world.

All your worst fears and worse fears than those. All of it.

The Spirit of Ayahuasca forces you to face YOU. From my experience, that's the scariest thing there is.

Your ego is afraid of death. Your ego believes its you. Your ego keeps you playing small so you don't reveal yourself. Your ego runs your life, until you stare it down.

So let's monetize this madness!

For over 20 years I've been teaching how to make money online. I've created hundreds of courses. I taught tens of thousands of people. I have thousands of glowing testimonials from students and clients. Here are just a few.

I've created 7 and 8 figure businesses in over a dozen niches. I've grossed well over 200 million dollars. I’ve had everything material that most people desire.

• beach houses
• expensive cars
• private jets
• world travel
• partying like a rockstar with actual rockstars, celebrities, and elites

By any standard, I've been successful.

But here's the rub.

1. The money was never in my hands for more than a couple years.
2. The vast majority of students I've taught now hate me.
3. None of it came in a nice straight line. 

In short, it's been a roller coaster from hell.

I've made over $3 million in one day. And I've been homeless scrounging food from dumpsters.

I've lived in opulent mansions and under the Las Vegas strip with the mole people.

I've been a paid speaker on stages in front of thousands of raving fans. And I've cried myself to sleep from severe loneliness because I pissed everyone off after that.

I've enjoyed luxury like most people never get to. And I spent a couple years in Federal prison.

I've explored life at it's extremes. I can't say I've seen everything. But I've seen 10 lifetimes worth of craziness, good and bad.

Compared to most of civilized society, I'm a weird mother fucker. I do and see things radically different than most. This has a lot of benefits. 

"Zig when everyone else is zagging."

I've quoted that sentence as my motto for most of life.

Sounds great when you're "winning." Not so much when you're "losing."

I put both winning and losing in quotes there because those terms are very relative. Heroin addicts, murderers, and prostitutes zig while everyone else is zagging as well. Yet so do the most successful people.

To really live you have to take risks. I'm a born risk taker. I've launched myself off of cliffs many times while attempting to build an airplane on the way down. It's worked a few times but most of the time its a crash and burn.

In 2017 I launched myself off of a cliff again, this time it was the end. Though I had plenty of money and everything else, I risked it all, for MORE.

I risked my whole life for a bigger score. And it failed. I lost everything AGAIN. I went all in on cryptocurrencies and virtual reality. I was right and wrong at the same time. Too early and too late both. Too aggressive and too passive simultaneously. 

I just did it all wrong.

I made every mistake there is and let my ego run the show. It was nothing less than a complete disaster. I lost most of my so-called "friends." My wife lost respect for me.

So in 2018 I gave up.

"I'm fucking DONE! I hate everyone and everything!" I screamed at my wife.

I couldn't handle another massive failure. I lost it. 

My Lamborghini and Range Rover were repoed. We lost our beach house. I was forced to sell my motorcycle shop. I ended up $5 million in debt.

I crashed. HARD.

For the next 2 years I gave a finger to the world: 

• I hid.
• I did the bare minimum to survive.
• I pissed away what little good will and money I had left.
• I smoked massive amounts of weed.
• I only thought about death. 

In late 2019 I had a spark of life as I launched a new sports betting company. It did well right out of the gate. I had a successful high-ticket mastermind group. We were doing live events in Las Vegas and it was going very well. We were on track to clear seven figures in revenue. I was back on top again.

Then came 2020 and the Covid nonsense.

All sports shut down worldwide. Our last mastermind event was in Vegas the last weekend before the whole world shut down.

Once again, another massive failure.

This time I truly gave up.

"Fuck this fucked up world and everyone in it," my mind raged.

I left California and my whole life behind. I became a wandering nomad.

For the last 4 years I've been on a hunt for where to put my energy, skills, and experience.

"Where the fuck do I fit in this whole picture?" I asked myself a million times.  

"Who REALLY wants me around. Who REALLY wants to work with me to create something amazing," I cried out to God over and over.

By the Grace of God and the Universe, I've finally figured it out.

And now we get to the crux of this letter to you dear reader.

A.I. killed me, and saved me.

Earlier I mentioned a brand new heater failing at 3AM. The picture above is that fucking heater.

Turns out, it doesn't work at high altitudes. But they don't tell you that anywhere! You learn by damn near freezing to death when it fails. I tested it a few times before the fateful night. But when I needed it the most, it did nothing.

When your body temperature drops enough, nothing makes sense.

I cursed. I screamed. I cried. I slapped it hundreds of times (that's what the company website says to do) until I damaged my wrist. 

It turned into a watershed moment where I was going to kill myself, or I was going to rise from the ashes.

I lost my mind. 

I've used that phrase many times in this letter. Seems like I'm losing my mind a lot. Well, that's most definitely been the case for the last several years. I've been fighting with the Universe about life and my place in it.

That heater became the material symbol of my struggle.

I'll forever hate that fucking thing. I'll forever love it as well.

It was the proverbial last straw that broke my back.

The heater and A.I. combined to create the Phoenix fire that burned me to the ground.

But like the reborn Phoenix, it's time to rise.

The symbols of my fall have become the symbols of the rise.

A.I. killed me, and saved me.

I'm starting a cult.

Since I came down off the mountain I've been all in with A.I. 

I vowed to become an expert at the very thing destroying me.

"Well you have to. The image translators work FOR the construct program. But there's way too much information to decode the Matrix," Cypher replied.

"You get used to it. I don't even see the code. All I see is blonde, brunette, red head," Cypher continued.

Neo stares at the code dancing on the screen.

"I know what you're thinking. Because I'm thinking the same thing since I got here. Why oh why didn't I take the BLUE pill?" Cypher exclaimed.

In the famous scene from The Matrix, Cypher explains to Neo why the code on the screen is not in plain language instead of encoded.

Now A.I. is our universal translator.

Now you don't have to be a coder to understand code because A.I. does it for you.

Now you don't have to know how to speak Mandarin because A.I. will translate if for you in real time.

A.I. is even learning to communicate with animals. WhaleGPT is being used to communicate with whales.

So else can A.I. do?

And that's just scratching the surface of what's possible, today.

In September 2023 I opened up the Watcher Society to a founding beta group.

They were the first to see The Morpheus Method and learn how to use A.I. to upgrade their lives.
